HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
2008: Stephen Kamau joins Transamerica Insurance formerly known as AEGON ADMS in Plano TX as a Captive Life Insurance Agent. He immediately loved the idea of a company honoring its promises to its insureds and had a front row seat witnessing families stabilized in their time of grief through the settlement of life insurance policy payments.

BIRTH OF AN INDEPENDENT AGENCY 
2010: Steve founded EXELLION GROUP in 2010 after being impacted by the 2008 recession that led to being downsized. Steve chose the Independent  Agent path in his career after considering the impact and flexibility an independent insurance agent offered in representing several insurance companies. The flexibility the independent agency models accords agents attracted him which led to the formation of EXELLION GROUP. ***The independent agent/agency model enables agencies to solicit insurance contracts from the wider insurance market enabling the agency to shop, provide and meet the needs of its clients in Personal as well as Commercial lines  without captive, direct writer or exclusive agency restrictions.***

GROWTH
2016: EXELLION GROUP later added several designations becoming a Managing General Agency, Surplus Lines Agency, Risk Management Agency, and Claims Adjuster Agency to better assisting it clients navigate the often complex and confusing Insurance World. This growth enabled EXELLION GROUP to have more flexibility in meeting customers unique needs.

OTHER BUSINESS AREAS WE OPERATE
2018: Through the expertise knowledge and experience gained, EXELLION GROUP saw an opportunity in the Trucking industry having worked with a lot of Personal & Commercial Accounts. We opened up our Freight Brokerage division to serve the trucking industry by assisting Truckers get decent market rates for loads that their trucking carriers - companies haul.
